A Quick Thought On The RunCam HD
It’s getting difficult to find a camera that fits all drone models; the low weight and aerodynamics should be important factors, although a quadcotper camera should at least deliver full HD video resolution, good image quality, large field of view and long operation mode.
The manufacturer was considerate of this camera and its overall presentation; the camera includes the camera with built-in battery and lens cap, an USB charging/data cable, USB to AV-OUT and 5V power cable, AV-Out to RCA cable, camera holder, lens cleaning wipe and RunCam HD’s user manual.
The RunCam HD quadcopter camera shows off a silver case, visible and easier to recover; a F2.8 120 degree lens and a tiny microphone can be found at the front. Two status LEDs replace the screen, making this a more energy-efficient idea. For easy and intuitive operation this camera has only 3 buttons – ON/OFF, Mode and Start/Stop (shutter) – and four operation modes.
The recorded videos come in .MOV format, automatically divided in 3, 5, 10, 15 or 25 min clips at 1920×1080/30fps. This RunCam HD camera also delivers still photos, although at an unimpressive 3MP quality. Powered by an 850 mAh battery, this camera delivers about 2 hours of operation time; and, there’s no way of upgrading, since this is a built-in component.
The RunCam HD cam is very small, ideal for attaching on remote controlled airplanes and multi-rotors. However, this camera might not be a good idea to use this as an action/sports camera because of the lack of mounting accessories and waterproof case. This $59 product is not to be ignored, delivering just what you need at an affordable price. Speaking of offers, there are not that many cons to mention, aside from the 30 fps videos and no time-lapse photography. This was one long thought, right?
