These Drones Will Fly You To 2018
Well, there are airplanes and private jets for that, but you get the point. You could always go for other drones than the one you will be reading about here. Why these flying machine? Well, simply because they left us with a positive first impression; they certainly look interesting, and I guess that’s what it’s all about. Don’t you listen to people and their wishful thinking about inner beauty; we all focus on an attractive or interesting physical feature way before we get to know each other – the same applies here. How about it?
Who says you can’t relive Top Gun in your own backyard? Rockee, a new Indiegogo project considered as a DIY marvel, is a tiny and enjoyable drone controlled via a smartphone or a remote. Equipped with a gyroscope, controlled by gravity sensor, as well as infrared shooting and judgment function, this thing has got Robocop by the motherboard. A 720p HD camera delivers high-definition recording and photographing while the VR goggles work hard on preventing feelings of dizziness or queasiness. Fast and agile, promises 10 minutes of flight. Go crazy!
Underwater drones have been receiving quite a lot of attention this year, and this one seems to make everyone’s day. The Fathom One is a submersible drone designed to shoot amateur photos beneath the waves. Featuring a modular construction and an HD camera, this thing will make any adventurer’s day – lights, a GoPro and a portable attitude are all part of the offering. This drone will dive as deep as 150 meters (492 ft) and move at speeds of up to 5.4 km/h (3.4 mph). A smartphone app connected to a towable Wi-Fi buoy will keep everything under control.
GDU Byrd Advanced
The Byrd Advanced packs a gimbal made to hold a GoPro, a Hero4 or the new Hero5 – are you interested in some cool shots yet? Compact and joined by a well-padded carrying case for the gimbal and your camera, the Byrd Advanced will take a bit longer to set up, but it is time well spent. Automated flight features include automatic takeoff and landing via the Home button; the battery pack is massive, but it will deliver as many as 30 minutes of flight. Get ready!
Hobbico Heli-Max 1SQ
This miniature device is what we’ll be focusing on the next few minutes. The Heli-Max 1SQ V-CAM RTF packs a built-in camera and self-stabilizing features, which is somewhat impressive considering the size of this quadcopter. The 25.mAH LiPo battery is as small as they come, so there’s no point in daydreaming about long flight times. The 2GB mSD card will come in handy, just as the 4 extra rotor blades. At the end of the day, this small flying machine is quite an impressive quadcopter.
Looking a bit odd, the Coolmade FY603 Mini Quadcopter brags about Wifi FPV, altitude hold, multiple speed modes and that obviously unique propeller guard setup. An easy-to-grab drone that will remain intact at the end of the day, that’s what this is, with the WiFi FPV video is streamed to an app on your phone. The package also includes 2 x 3.7V 380mAh Lithium batteries that promise 5 to 6 minutes of flight each, as well as 4 extra blades – just in case.
MOLA TOURIST 1
The MOLA TOURIST 1 drone supports 1080p @60fps recordings and 720p real-time transmission capabilities. The 3-axis brushless gimbals make sure that smooth aerial footage will be on offer every minute of the day. Powered by a 3500mAh Li-Po battery, this drone will stay up in the air for as long as 25 minutes. Fail-safe features will make sure that, if the battery pack is less than 10% charged, the quad-copter will return ‘home’ and land before any drama happens. I’m quite sure the dedicated app will help any pilot enjoy this drone. What more could you ask for?
